WAREHOUSE

Our warehouse receives donations for sorting for distributing through our various ministries. Food, clothing, and household items are brought in each day, and then must be sorted to be used by the Mission, given away to needy people, or prepared for recycling.

Sometimes minor repair can restore something's usefulness so it can be passed on and able to meet a family's need.

During the holidays food boxes are prepared at the warehouse ahead of the time for distrubution. It takes a lot of hands to put together 500 meal boxes to be given to needy families all on one day.

Volunteer opportunities:
  • RECYCLING: (aluminum, newspapers, cardboard, magazines, paperbacks, and vases) people are needed each day to help with our recycling program.
  • SORTING donated groceries: individuals are needed to work on this depending upon amount of donations.
  • SORTING household items: two or three people for 6 to 9 hours each per week, depending upon the season.
  • SORTING clothing: 6 to 7 women, 6 to 9 hours weekly, in the morning. Out-of-season clothing must be stored. Other items sorted into categories and sizes.
  • BAILING items for recycling.. 1 person, 6 to 9 hours per week
  • DRIVING: pickup donated clothing and household items, or transport sorted items to the distribution point. Take loads to the dump as needed.
