Family Shelter for Families in Crisis

The Mission’s emergency care Family Shelter works with families on a short-term basis.   Families in crisis are offered transitional housing for a 7 to 30 day temporary stay.

The shelter is located at 1300 N. 1st Street a quarter of a mile from the I 82 interstate, exit 32.

The Shelter, formerly a motel, has 30 rooms with private baths and can house up to 60 individuals.  The Family Shelter is one of the few facilities in Yakima that accepts women with male children up to age 18.  The families staying in the Family Shelter are also served three meals each day and receive counseling, clothing, and personal care items.   Many we serve suffer from years of drug and alcohol abuse or physical abuse and are in transition looking for long term care and living conditions. Family Shelter provides them with leads to find work and housing.
