Volunteers are an essential part of accomplishing Yakima Union Gospel Mission’s vision that every homeless person in Yakima County would have the opportunity for permanent life transformation in Jesus Christ.
As co-ministers in this field, volunteers contribute in many ways – ranging from tutoring children to driving our box trucks.
Our volunteers serve meals, provide medical and dental care, sort and process donations, lead worship, and contribute in dozens of ways as they follow Christ in helping people move from homelessness to wholeness. Most significantly, these volunteers demonstrate the Love of Christ for the poor, orphaned, lost, broken and vulnerable members of our community. If you feel that God is calling you to serve and minister to the homeless - contact us today.
Volunteer orientations will focus on sharing the purpose of our ministry and the various ways you can join in serving with us. We will answer any questions you may have and offer a brief tour of our campus. At the orientation, we will give you an application to submit. Once your application is submitted, we will work to find the perfect place for you to serve as a High-Impact Volunteer.
